...other eyeballs to tell me what they think of my other abstract that I just pulled.
I am entering a differant submission, and just wanted to know what the community thought of this piece.
Thanks in advance.

i like the lighting and the color changes. nice texture. can't say how it would have scored, though.

Nice shot, the coloring and drops are catching. I also am not sure how it would do in the abstract contest, because it is a plane more so then a shape or bunch of crazy shapes. I'll be interested to see what you did choose. |

I'm a big fan of abstract photography. The content and color selection in this image is very fine.
This type of abstract is one that has to be absolutely technically perfect to work.
If anything I'd work more on the tonal shifts in the blues to make them 100% smooth going from light to dark. Something that holds this image back is what I call "oversharpen out-of-focus". It is common in digital images. It looks a little oversharped yet, at the same time, the bubbles are not sharply formed and lack important detail.
Wish I could tell you how to correct that sharpening issue. I don't really know how. Sharpening is a science in the digital world that is hard to master. Most of the time I do a two layer approach to USM where I adjust the intensity of the black and white pixels added by USM separately. That might work here.
You could try downloading a free trial version of "Focus Magic" and see if that will work. A lot of DPCers swear by it. Be advised you only get about 10 shots in the trial version with focus magic and there is a stuff you need to figure out that wastes some of those turns. :)

Hmmmmmm ...... first thing I thought of when I saw this shot was ... "shower door". Although I do like the colour scheme and how you dealt with the shades and hues, I don't believe the image would have score very highly... simply not abstract enough I think.
Then again... what do I know.
