Have you tried step-down rings?

Most people buy the biggest filter they need and use step-up rings to attach them to their smaller lenses. However, given that digital sensors don't capture the full area of the lens, if you have some smaller diametre filters lying around, you might be able to save yourself some money.

Just a thought.
