After sending in my Fuji S9000 (defective), I decided that it wasn't quite fitting my needs. As I have alluded to earlier, I was looking into the Canon Rebel XT. Well, it just arrived today and I couldn't be happier. What a spectacular camera! I have been shutter-happy for the last 2 straight hours and it produces some wonderful images So, I just thought I'd share the excitement with all y'all. Maybe I'll try to get some shots up sooner or later, we'll see though.

I am glad for you... I moved up from the Fuji S7000 to the Rebel XT in June, '05 and have been smiling ever since:)

Congrats, I love getting new kit, whether its a lense, filter or whole camera its always exciting. Hope you get many happy years out of it. I love mine to bits............one tip, be carefull buying lenses. Get the best lense you can afford, if you need to save for a while to get the extra funds, its worth the wait.

I bought some okay lenses and had to sell them when I got to try a L series lens. THe difference is huge.

Congrats on your new camera! Moving from a Fuji S602 to a Rebel 300 about a year ago was the best move i ever made.

Check fredmirande.com for lens reviews. Live with what you have for a month or two as you reseach lenses and then the fun can be begin!

A friend of mine who has WAY more money than a person ought to have, told me the same thing - to get good lenses. Easy for him to say - he has oodles of the things, but I did take his word and got an "L" lens and I have to admit he was right. The difference is indeed worth the price.
