I think this is one of my best macros, however I'm wondering if the highlights are a problem or the background too bland. Here is the before and after photos.

I really like your edit. I like the cropping and placement. The highlights are noticable, but I don't feel they keep this from being a good photo... I wonder if you couldn't clone, or heal the hot spots? That's just nitpicking though... a good macro!
