I've just joined! I've only really just started doing stock, as I didnt really think I'd do too well. Its a resource that I think I'll really useful as I get more into it. I hope it continues to grow.

Good luck with it, its a great idea.

leaf, that's really cool.

Did you code that yourself or is it a freebie like blogger?
02/02/2006 08:26:54 AM · #5
no, I didn't code it myself.. I am a very novice coder. It is a free open source forum software that you just have to install on the server.

Micro Stock Forum

I don't think I have time for another online forum ... I don't even have time to upload stock photos : (

I'd be interested in hearing about any really important developments though.

well i do agree forums are time consuming. But I thought that for those needing info / a place to disuss micro's.. it might be a good / usefull thing.

MAYBE YOU COULD oops- make it a stock forum, not just micro. You run the risk of the arguements but you'd have more members possibly?

Oh I was agreeing it was a good thing -- just rueing my likely inability to participate meaningfully on a regular basis.

I might register anyway -- I just had some test photos accepted at SS, for which I have a pool of about 200 similarly-styled but individual images to process and upload, so I might have to get more serious about it. Especially if I get a new camera.

Now you go and make me regret what i have done :)

I had originally thought about making it a stock discussion site, and maybe I should have, or maybe I will do that too, but I thought that there is such arguments, and such a division that people might like a place that was JUST microstocks, and not have to deal with the baggering macro stock folks.

However, perhaps there is a larger and larger group of people that do both. People could for sure discuss macro stocks there too (i can even make a heading for it) I know lots of people submit to Alamy and the micros.

As if this thread needs another forum, but yes, I have one! I have recently started a microstock ranking and discussion forum site. I have tried to add a few nice features such as a ranking and review system. I am contacting each agency about details and gathering information into one place (such as number of images, members, commission rates, etc). Come check us out: //www.microsotckforum.com

Just digging out this old thread to announce yet another (micro)(stock)forum: Photographic Freedom is a little bit different because it has discussion boards not only in English but also in Russian, French, Turkish, Polish, German and Spanish. The idea behind this forum is to facilitate the exchange of information by broadening the platform. A lot of our members post in more then one board making it a truly international forum. We could also win some of the best micro stockers in the world like Andresr and Lev Dolgachov as moderators, so feel welcome to pay us a visit and check us out! SY
