| Post you shot here for a critique. As usual, I don't look at other comments before I leave mine. Others will often come along and comment as well. |

Ahoi - Finally I am in the upper 5's. Eronic that this was in a Advanced editing challenge and I didn't do any editing to my photo - and it is someones favourite. Places all over the world with beautifull landscapes and wonderful scenery, but I think Africa/South Africa got the most beautiful wildlife.

I used to live in a semi-desert region in Namibia. Also used to viit the Namib desert often (be4 the time of digital cameras). What makes this photo very interesting to me is the formation in front - looks like a fallen tree - what is a fallen tree doing in a desert. Great shot though

It's not in the desert. Dunes are also common in costal regions. These Dunes are in Oregon in the Northwestern US which has vast forests.\
Edit: quoting...

Thanx - I sort-of realised its not the desert (one or two plants too many. We mine desert dunes in Northern Kwazulu Natal in South Africa - its a tropical region with hundreds of trees. This picture has got one tree (dead). Beautiful country side though.

Yeah, I'm suspicious that my score was hurt big here because too many people looked at it and said "Dunes? Nah! 1" or something similar. The tree log was probably washed ashore in some major storm. (There are lots of logs on the Oregon coast becase of all the timber operations.) The ocean is probably 500 feet from where the picture was taken.
Thanks for the comments. What is particularly interesting from my POV is that this was one of my lowest scoring entries yet it is the only one that I have printed and framed for the wall!

I'll help out the good Doctor as well.
As I had commented on most of the Tribute entries, post your Wildlife and I will comment on them as well.

I like it - agree with most of the other comments - 557th place is low. Picture does seem dark, but at the same time mysterious. I like the way that it's diferent - usualy one finds butterflie photo colourfull, beautifull flowers, sunshine etc - this is dark and cold. Good Angle.
