Which one do I go for best quality of saving a JPEG in PS. Thanks.

"Optimized" saves slightly (2%-8%) smaller than "standard" at no visible loss of quality. "Progressive" actually increases file size slightly but provides a staggered download (pops a coarse version immediately and flows in a smoother version on top of that) and is useless for DPC.

yeah, this wasn't necessarily for web stuff, but just for personal future use. so standard seems like the right choice then. great. thanks.

If the images are to be used in a color managed way then go ahead if you have it in the color space you want it viewed in. However, the web and web browsers are not color managed -- unless you consider always displaying as if it was in the sRGB color space as being color managed.

| Is there any way to tell if a jpeg is baseline or baseline optimized? Irfanview does not not see any difference. |
