So I got a voicemail last week from a woman asking if I had a night skyline shot of Orlando. I was surprised at that, since a shot of mine just like that was recently part of Orlando magazine's annual "Paint the Town" issue. It was also on display at the Orlando Museum of Art's "1st Thursday" earlier this month, along with other (much better) artworks that were also in the magazine.
While there, I talked some with another photographer (a professional, Chris Casler) about how he did his shot, and he also gave me some suggestions for my shot. Turns out, he's the one who suggested the woman looking for the skyline pic contact me. I'm so grateful he did that, and surprised that he even remembered me.
Anyway, by the time the woman saw my shot, it turned out that another photo had been bought already (it was a gift for an employee), but it was fun to think someone might have purchased my little shot. (It's viewable at //www.nagyworld.com/DavidsPhotos/target0.html if you want to see it--one of Chris' suggestions was that I could have blended another, darker shot with it to help with the blow-outs.)
Just wanted to share!

Ah, Lake Eola, I have several sunset shots there. Never really stuck around much later than that though. |

Yeah, well, another suggestion from the pro was to take the shot earlier, before the sky got too dark. I'll have to go back and try again sometime.
