instead of private messaging going to an email, it would be nice to have notes section applied to each account whereby private messages could be sent through the site and stored in the db. naturally, it'd mean creating a notes management system and a bit more work on the server, but it would be fun and give a greater sense of community! fun fun fun

I think this would also be good for when people are on holiday, as they can log into DPC from an internet cafe or something, but probably can't check their home email account.

I'd be fine with this either way as long as their is an option to also receive an email if I receive a PM. I am a member at several sites that allow PMs and it becomes too much work to keep track of each and check them ... so unless they inform me that I have a PM I'd probably never read it ...

If done right, We'd see how many PMs we have waiting for us at the top of the site next to our names or on the navigation bar. They should also notified us by email when we have new PMs.
