I saw this on a wall in Santa Barbara California - grabbed a quick shot, but I wonder what kind of spider it is - any ideas - or ideas on good online sources to check for an ID. I'm curious.
Oh, yeah, it was about two inches in diameter as he sat there on the wall (leg tip to leg tip)- sorry if it really was a she.

No help, but it sure is pretty for a big, ugly hairy spider.

Thanks for the link! I was wondering what this spider was and used the site to find out it's a wolf spider. Very cool :)
Edit: Not that I'm saying my spider is the same, just thanking for the link ;)

The coloring on the legs makes me think it's something besides a wolf spider...they're usually pretty drab in coloration.
