$40 for a PDF file...
Scam?
Truthful, but not likely to make any money at it?

reading the who needs this service it sounds like you are going to peoples houses and businesses etc and taking pictures of property. At least thats an example they used. I dont know if I like that idea at all.

One part in particular makes me worry...
Originally posted by some scammer: If someone from your hometown goes online and applies for a home loan from a national mortgage company say in New York or Atlanta. The mortgage company may require some photos and a few measurements of the property before processing the loan. |
This sounds a lot like residential property appraisal, for which you need to be apprenticed, licenced by your state, and generally is a lot more work per property than 15 minuntes of snaps.
Any of these "Send me $40 and I'll tell you how to make $40,000" pitches is almost always too good to be true. If it were such a great business plan the guy would be out there doing it, instead of writing books about it.
Run, don't walk, the other direction.

I agree. There's quite a bit more to appraising homes then simply snapping pictures.
Of course, it is possible (most anything is) that some of the work being described is simply going to location 'X' taking a handful of images and then supplying the evidence that Item 'Y' is visually the same as described.
I can see it, I just don't see making very much money doing such a thing. |

And furthermore, I don't see Bank of America having a giant Rolodex of names per zip-code... I'm sure they farm this work out to one or a small handful of national companies who then subcontract with individual photogs. I'm sure that if one was willing to do some research, one could find and contact those companies, without paying $40 for what probably amounts to a list of e-mail addresses.
