...coming to Detroit in a short bit of time.

...and I live just outside of Detroit, as do other DPC members, from what I understand.

So, does anyone want to plan a get togther/outing to scour the streets of Detroit for good Photo Opportunities? There will be famous folks in town, lots of people milling about the downtown area and other ample opportunities for photography.

We could plan to meet at the Detroit Zoo or somewhere else and then drive to the Detroit Zoo, there will be shuttles from the Zoo taking people downtown to events.

So, who's interested?

Alright all you later in the day/evening people...

Who's with me? You wouldn't want a fellow DPC'er head off to Detroit all alone now would you?

Probably not interested in celeb watching or roaming around on Super Sunday, but might be interested in a Detroit shoot some other time.

Eh.. I was just thinking about the morning activities, well before the game, then heading back home a bit before the game starts.

EDIT: I am not really into the idea of 'watching celebrities' so much as just being out and about and taking candid shots of people out at such an event.

So Robert, are you inviting us over for a bit of game watching after the photography? ;)
My wife and I were discussing the possibiliy of coming up for the day and perhaps watching the game in a bar or something - to enjoy the excitement of it all and figureing you can't get a hotel room anywhere near there now.
Most likely we'll party here - I expect the game to be action packed and stressful to the last 2 minutes.

heheh.. Our place is WAY to small to host any kind of Super Bowl Extravaganza.

Anyway, it was just a thought.

Morning of might be OK. I'll have to think about that. It is an event that probably won't be back to Detroit any time soon...I host a Super Bowl party every year, but probably could do something as long as it doesn't run too close to the game. Not sure I want to deal with any hassles - security will be tight, access to the area of the stadiums will be tight, etc.

Anyway, just roaming around the city some other time would also work. I did that recently with one of my brothers, and it was fun just to walk the town a bit. I'd also like to venture to Windsor and shoot the Detroit skyline one night....if anyone has any interest in that.

Definately.

Although we would have to be careful about what we say when we cross the border...

Canadian Border Dude - "Alright 'dere, what you doin' over here, eh?"

Us - "Oh, we are just going to shoot Detroit..." (Oooops!)

That would be a "great" way to have to pull out every single piece of equipment we carry over and "enjoy" plenty of cavity searches...
