how important is the photograph's subject or content, to you?
would you vote lower if the subject is highly creative and interesting, but the technicalities is poor?
would you vote lower if the technicalities is very good, but the subject and content is boring?
SUMMARY OF RESPONSE:
Subject = 3
Technicality = 4

a) mostly unimportant
b) the subject does not usually have much bearing on my interest in/rating of an image
c) it may just be an exciting shot of a very bored person in a dull and uninspiring setting...
(I'm not sure what you mean by content

i mainly vote on composition, i only give 5% for WOW factor.
I mostly give 9 or 10 to out of box interpretation of challenge no matter how poor the post processing was.
I usually vote low to repetative idea, for example if there is a ribbon winner in one challenge, people tend to do the idea again.
But i mainly feel that people vote high to the pictures those look great to eyes as compared to a good compostion but can have some small issue (like noise for example).

i usually do this because,(its my thinking) lot of photos those look very good get good scores, for example,
challenge "Shallow DOF": Flower with shallow DOF
chanllenge "Singled Out": Flower singled out with shallow DOF
challenge "Burst of Colour": Flower with shallow DOF
etc etc,
(in all these challenges, a photo of flower with WOW factor would very high)
And this photos do very well compared to photos in which the photographer tend to think something other than norm. My thinking is if i do not promote "thinking" of photographer and if i vote high on WOW photos, it would be not good for the community (and for me too). So when you say my scores are going up, you have to ask your self, am i becoming a good post processor (or my weight is more towards this) than a good photographer that has eye for what to shoot (not always flowers).
I do wish to excel in post processing, but i wish i could think and compose like Librodo (the only photographer who has impressed me so far).
