No Brad, please don't be sorry and please don't give up.
DPC is already changing, I soooooo don't want to lose it altogether.

And brace yourself for a lousy score from me on your tire for wildlife.
I am a very narrow minded, non-artistic, in the box DNMC Nazi.

I agree with every fibre of sentiment Brad raised. The challenge was one of my favourites and I bombed in it. It was a tough challenge to do well and therefore I scored badly. I don't mind bombing but I do mind being beaten by DNMC images who used their "creativity" as a crutch and excuse not to make the effort to get it right. Most of the time, people simply read the challenge caption but not the detail until its time to submit. The creativity they talk about is in how creatively they can shoehorn their image into the challenge.

There is no doubt that blatant DNMC (sheep not people, 4-5am shot at midday) will eventually have to become grounds for DQ. If D&L wish DPC to maintain its commercial edge then they have to provide something unique and different. Themed challenges is that difference. Having done that, they have to fight to the death to maintain it.

I too am becoming dissolusioned by people who want to pull down the integrity of the process and essentially turn every challenge result into a farce. If this goes on, I won't be renewing my membership, it's just not worth it. If the owners aren't going to defend the integrity of their creation why am I busting a boiler over it? So to the free-for-all types

- This is a Challenge site so meet the challenege or suffer.

- Adherence to Challenges requires more creativity, not less

- If this bugs some people, then there are other sites for them. Just leave this one as conceived - please.

Brett

You talking a bout me Brad? Hmmmm. Well I explained why my posed nude was candid on the image after the challenge was over. You can all read it here:

I have a suggestion, since there are so many creative people here who think out of the box, have a box, a box on the entry where without giving out your identity you could explain why you feel this entry meets the challenge. Then if the voter doesn't think it is clear enough he can vote accordingly. This explanation would be posted with the image while voting is taking place. Right now only the SC can see any comments made by the photographer. This doesn't have to be a requirement but could
help explain different ideas and also explain some problems in language.

Just give em a 1 for not meeting the challenge and move on. If you want to tell them about it, fine, but expect some backlash. If not, well, voting's anonymous.

Oh - bad example - sorry - I forgot all about that image, and didn't mean it to sound like it was directed at you.

Sorry Mike.
