I had a hard time deciding which photo to submit to the "Round" challenge. I'd be interested to hear what you think of either of these pictures, especially if you've already looked through the "Round" entries.

I like them both...especially the bridge reflection. The umbrelas are a great shot but may be more of a strecth to capture the "round"...but really like the colors. But the bridge seems to bring more focus to the challenge idea. Now I can't wait to see what you actually entered if these were your outtakes!

You were on the right track, but the trees and branches betray alot of your intent. I believe great composition (and great design) has purpose and harmony for all elements. The branches serve little purpose, but to distract the user from other key elements, like your subject. Branches in the forground are only effective if they're not the first thing that draws the eyes (unless they're your primary subject). Which is why many choose to decrease depth of field in such a situation.

This is the same philosphy i use in my graphic designs.
