I've got eclipse and pecpads already...what should I use as the swab piece?

Get a small flexible Spatula at any kitchen store, and cut it to the right width. Buy a few so it you mess up the cut you have a spare.

I use this but as Brennan says a FLEXIBLE spatula should do.
