It's just a test photo but I would like to hear some impressions about the editing and how to improve it if needed.

The photo is here.

Thanks in advance, George.

Nice portrait. I like it.

I'm looking at the eyes... and the pupils seem to be a bit grey. You might want to do a little burning of the pupils and irises.

Also, there is a halo around her. Darken that up a little too.

I would like to pop up the eyes, but how to do that without dodging?

Please give us an idea of what your intention was when producing this image. What were going for? This will give us a better idea to formulate critiques.

I would go about it in 3 steps.

First I would Burn the pupils and iris.

Then I would dodge a bit on the whites of the eyes.

Then for effect I would use a small circular brush to paint small catch lights in the center of each pupil.

* - I can see the brush strokes in the background.
* - Under and around her eyes are very dark, like she has 2 black eyes.
* - There's a small amount of light shining off her nose which can easily be cloned out (healing brush).

I think you can make the eyes pop without darkening around them, just sharpen them a bit more than the rest of the image. The biggest thing I see is her eye sockets, they seem way too dark for me.

I love the pose and crop.

Did a little work on the eyes...(just a quick edit)

First I Burned the pupils and irises a bit. Then with a brush in Color mode, I used a lighter shade of brown to repaint the irises. Then dodged the whites of the eyes a bit.

Then with a small soft brush Normal Mode at 45% Opacity I dropped the Catch Light back into the pupils.

Yep, the eyes look much better and natural, but I would like to add a more creepy look.Maybe, I guess, a lighter color of the irises would do the trick.

ok... if you are going for a more creepy look. Yes, use a lighter color on the irises and then make sure to remove any sign of a catch light.

Audiences usually perceive eyes without specular highlights to be lifeless or evil.

It's good to hear that because that's the point.
