You may request removal of your own photo, for any reason, if:
You make the request during the voting period. Requests made after the close of voting typically will not be considered.
There has been no rules violation and you have not been asked to submit proof on your entry. If you report a rules violation on your own entry or request removal after receiving a proof request, the request will be treated as a normal disqualification.
None of your last 25 submissions have been disqualified or removed. Remember that subsequent DQs within the next 25 submissions may incur a penalty.

why would you want to? even if you're not doing well, that's part of the learning process.

Felt like doing it many times but never did... and never will. Every kick in the nuts just puts more juice where needed.... Look at my FORK entry and what my reaction to it was... Hang in there....! |

You can, but as Konador points out, their are ramifications. I agree with Shutterpug though, I can't see why. If it's a 'stats' thing, then that's kind of messed up. Like if you were in sports or something, you can't just say well, I had a bad game, so don't put those stats in the record...

Seriously, in DPC, one thing you should learn early on... nobody cares when you throw in a clinker, they don't point and laugh or tease you on the playground. We all get low scores sometimes, every portfolio contains AT LEAST one very very good shot that got a rotten score. It just happens. Chin up and hope for better on the next one. Really, its only a cyber-score on a website full of opinions from ALL levels - though heavily leaning toward the untrained.
My 2 cents. :)

I probably have more Brown Ribbons (last-place finishes) than anyone here, and Grrrrr I don't let that me discourage me from submitting whenever I feel like it : )

It's just irritating when you get a comment from a "douche bag" for lack of a better term.

Consider the source and ignore it -- if it has no credibility, there is no reason to react to something which "never happened." |

Don't let it bother you... I've got one of those comments on a current entry ... just ignore it... a fun thing is to check the Helpful box, just to make them wonder why ... lol

Sometimes the "douche bag" might be giving you there first feeling, after all I take all comments good or bad. Heck on a challenge I got a comment it was uninteresting... Ya know what maybe it is after looking through all the entries I agree! Learn and move on.. |

You'd certainly be within your rights to request a self-DQ, but if I were in your shoes I'd ask myself whether it was worth getting that worked up over one comment.
If it were me, I'd take a deep breath and keep going.
Your choice, though.

I agree, the comments are the worst! I can handle a low score but when you get rude types of comments that are copies of the challenge description or simply a number, how is that helpful? Of all the comments I make, I do try to point out what I DO like about the picture or what is done well.
(sorry, personal experience) |
