I was having problems coming up with a good one for 'Round', so was going to enter this one below.
I have a much better one now (phew!) which is very different, but am interested to see what people think of this:

Title: You Lookin' At Me?!

thats great! (even though I hate flies). You know, each section that makes up their eye is round-- well, maybe some sort of polygon-- but anyway, its a great macro, especially because of his alignment with the camera

Nice macro, and I see round in it. Got a better one huh! I guess I better go do some more shooting.

I was thinking about the thousands of little round eyes when I took it... (and the rounded body), but I do hate flies and thought this would reflect on my scoring. But I did get to like this little fella after 10 minutes of shooting him. He was a very patient model.
And I've seen SO many excellent bug macros in the forums in the last week that I didn't want to compete with another one!

I like the rounded curves of the leaf beneath, too (much better than if the fly were sitting on a corner or something).

it must be me then.. I like the shot a lot but I can't see round in there at all.. I am a very literal person.. vive le diference.. or something

I believe that flies' "eyes" are hexagonal, not round.
The marks they leave are round. :) (until you scratch too much)

Nice job. Would rate it a 6 to 8.

amazing shot (and you say you have a better one??!!), but I don't see it as being round either. :o)

Well, I did feel I was stretching the challenge a little... I mean there are things that exhibit 'roundness' in there like eyes and the body, but I didn't fully convince myself.
But I'll kill anybody who says my new one doesn't have 'roundness'.
I wonder how many people are going to knock off points for anything that isn't a complete sphere by not reading the fine print of the challenge which says 'Show us roundness, however you want to express it'.

That seems to be the battle cry this week, Bobster. I'm actually surprised my round entry is doing as well as it is considering I didn't take a picture of a ball (no offense to any who did, I just expected a lot of blasting on my pic that it wasn't round enough).

Chin up...and welcome to the land of mediocrity here at DPC. I've been here a while and I'll be glad to share a beer and show you around.

shareinnc, I've seen a lot of work on this site which is far from mediocre. As a newbie it's quite off putting to see so many regulars knocking the site and the other members. As this is a site for learning isn't the implication behind us all being here that we ALL have something to learn?

The voting mechanism seems about as fair as can be possible.. The winning works are usually great pieces. If your work sits mid table, it's probably above mine so well done!
