Hello, I've been asked to do some photography for a local band. I've to take promo pictures before and during the show.

I searched and only found the thread about another band near red rock or something, I'm from UK so I'm not familiar with that.

Ideally what settings and such should I have as it will be dark apart from the coloured spot lights on them, so I'm not sure as to shutter speeds and aperture priorty and such.

I have a Nikon D50, AF-S 24-85mm.

If this has been covered properly before please link me in the right directio and delete question as appropirate or similar.
