This is an outtake, and of course, FAR from my original entry, but I just had to show it to you.
Now, we can drive ALL over creation looking for the perfect candid shot, and then again, we can find candids not 50 feet from our own front doors. That is what happened to me the other day. I drove around in the wind and the rain, hoping to get a few people together in which maybe one would lose their umbrella functions, or a carriage would get away from a family at a supermarket. Just anything interesting. I gave up, got hungry, and went home to eat.
A broadcast came over the TV. A tornado warning. It touched down 10 miles away. Naturally, the first thing I grabbed was my camera and headed to the porch of my complex. A few girls were sitting across the way in their doorway talking and laughing, and I told them of the tornado and was wielding my camera to take shots if I could see any cloud formations. They thought that was cool, and kept on talking. Just as I got ready with my settings to shoot the sky, it started to pour, and this one girl got up in a BIG hurry to get out of the rain. When she did, well, you can see the results...LMAO! I turned and "snap". Hence not the perfect in technicals as the settings weren't correct, but you get the idea.
They knew I took the shot. Who wouldn't in this case???? They just laughed about it, as we all did. I told them I would email it to them. :)
Here is the shot. Not good enough for an entry. No "crowds" perse`, although there were three girls there, but one left and the other is obscured.
Here is another. This first one is of a guy that roams our town. Notice how far away it is, but I will explain that later.
I call him "Guitar Man". He rides his bycycle around and usually comes to the pond for some recreation, OF HIS OWN. He looks to be homeless. His pants are shattered and torn, and his clothes are the same every day. But at least he finds solice in his music.
Why I put emphasis on "OF HIS OWN" is because as he saw me walking his way, he covered his face with his hat and started packing up to leave. Normally not so shy, as I have talked to him before but only in passing as he was about to cross the street, or when he stopped to get out of the way when I'm shooting. I thought he wouldn't mind me getting a photo of him playing his music. I thought it would make a great b/w for my portfolio. BUT, when I asked him "do you mind if I take your photo"? He shook his head no, and continued to pack, and looked away. I snapped the second shot you see here entitled "Secrets.."
I don't know if he meant no, I don't want you to take my photo, or no I don't mind and I am only packing cause I want to leave. But either way, I didn't pursue it. I snapped one photo, and turned to leave quickly, just to let him know I won't invade his space any longer. I then thought to offer him money for a shot. As I was about to offer I could see he was already on his bike and off to roam the town somemore, as, Guitar Man.....
Later on my husband, myself, and my son went for pizza. On the way home, we saw Guitar Man. He was perched behind a building, playing his guitar....I didn't stop or say a word. I thought it best to leave him to the little peace and solice he finds in this and his world.
