So in the past i have been going by my scores and using that as a basis on if my shot did well...
Im going to try to change my mindset a little. I always shoot to please myself 1st, but as i have learned here that is not always what the general audience is looking for, so to please my self and my score for my next submission i will be happy if i recieve 10 votes of a 10. Which is not so outlandish on my highest scoring shot which was around a 5.6 i recieved 7 10's and i think im going to look at it like that from now on and have my goal in these kind of incriments... see how that works out. |

That's a good attitude. For me, another major motivator is favorites received, especially during the voting stage when my image is still anonymous.

I know put stock in a variety of aspects:
How many 9 & 10's
Percentage (this is really more relevant than score). Some challenges as a whole score lower than other topics - the topic is just not as appealing. Thus, a 1% shows position in "relative competition". A 6.0 placing at 1% in one challenge may be better than a 7.0 placing at 5% in a different challenge.
