This is the shot looking directly behind me when I shot this.

Another excellent image. I recently got an RIP to print "true" B&W on my Epson printer... I've never been really satisfied with the prints before. Epson's own print driver sucks for B&W. I have been wanting to do some quality B&W for a long time. When I do I will share them with you.

I have the Epson Stylus Pro 4000... it is a 17" inch wide carriage. But it pretty much does not matter which Epson you have because I think all the Epson printer drivers have a poor reputation for printing B&W. That is why you need an RIP.

The new 2400 is suppose to be amazing. My 2200 does an alright job, but could be a lot better.

Have you ever tried the B&W paper from Mpix? I'm curious to how it looks.

...

This really is excellent work by a true professional. I personally think these kind of shots really illustrate the difference in film and digital. Especially medium format and larger film.

It's definitely different, isn't it :)

I have a love/hate relationship with film. Love to shoot it and look at on the light table, hate to pay for it and the processing.

I have not. I looked on their site and it looks to me like they use Kodak and Illford papers for their orders. I have some Kodak profiles but don't think I have for the Kodak paper Mpix uses.

That works really well in black and white - really shows off the wonderful tonal range and detail.

Stunning photos.

As for the printer question, a friend of mine has the Epson R2400 and it works like a champ.

Beautiful shots!

Glacier point in Alaska? I didn't see that part of it, but I thought it was the most beautiful, most isolated place I ever visited!

I used the B/W paper from Mpix Brent. Really nice quality (I'm no expert though). It's separate shipping though which kind of sucks if you're printing some color stuff too.

Nice shots of Glacier Point too. Did you stay up there after dark? It's pretty neat, the stars are amazing up there.
