I just wanted to first thank everyone for the feedback on this shot.. 27 comments is the most I've received during a challenge.

When taking this shot, I walked around this gentleman to get a good angle while stopping to listen to him play (he was very, very good) and after about 8 shots I approached him to focus more on the music.

Now, I'm not assuming he was homeless, but he was sure braving it out there. It was freezing that day.

Me, without a hat as usual, was taken back when he offered me his own toque. "It's really cold out, you should have a hat... I have a spare," he said to me.

"Wow.. that's nice of you, keep it for someone who really needs it," I replied.

He paused. "Well, how about a hat for your camera?"

I smiled, dropped a few dollars into his guitar case and was on my way.

Just wanted to share a brief -- but inspirational -- story about my city.

One time, at band camp...

A touching story. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Then I realized that I've been staring at the monitor too long. :D

Good story. He doesn't look very "streety", but some street folks are very friendly. I've also run into some pretty nasty ones as well.

Your entry reminded me of a guy who plays his electric guitar in the York/University Ave tunnel at Union Station before baseball & hockey games. Anybody ever hear him? He freestyles amazing riffs. Cool to hear as I crawl by in rush hour traffic after work. I've actually taken a shot of him out of my car window, but may have deleted it.
