I've entered my first non-DPC photo contest. It's a fundraiser for a local education program. You were allowed to enter 10 photos from 2005 and 100 semifinalists were chosen. I had 5 of my 10 picked. (yaaa!)

The voting now moves to internet voting where people pick their 10 favorites. I'm not too fond of this open style as campaigning seems to be a requisite. Anyway, drop by and pick your 10 favorite. I'll put the link below as well as my 5 entries (if you happen to be so inclined....)

Click here then select Top 100 at the top.

I was plannning on entering the Teton shot in our Best of 2005 Challenge...but I guess you are all spared... :)

Remember to vote for 10 entries.

EDIT: Link fixed.

Getting DPCers over there has blown the system!

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '8007000e'

My vote of 10 will go to number 1 of your photos. Love the green, the moon, the blue sky. It always gets me! NICE!

Number 2? To be quick with critique, too much darkness on the left.

Number 3? Seems to far away for my liking.

Number 4? The sky is too flat.

Number 5? Too depressing.

Try this link. The the front page. At the top click "Top 100" and then pick 10 pics on the side.

Tell me if it works and I'll fix the link above.

If the site starts working again, I'll be sure to send some your way - those shots are wonderful! For the moment, however, it will let me see thumbs, but not actually vote - keep gettin' the error message.

I'll bump this later when it seems to be working...

Yeah, that's how I tried it the first time. But I just tried again, and this time it worked. Some nice work there, but yours was some of the very best, Doc! Good luck, let us know how it goes!

I didn't look at the thumnails you included in your original post.
Just went to the page and looked at all the pictures.
I ended up voting for your #1 and #5...

Good job.
As for the too depressing comment, in my opinion if an image makes you feel something strongly then it's a good image.

take it easy,

P.

I said I was giving quick critique. Not in depth. What I meant by depressing was not in the emotional value. I just think overall it is a bit too dark for me. To much mist and darkness. I much prefer the vivid greens and blues. But, nuff said on that. My votes are in and my best to the winner/s!?

Hey Paddy, thanks. I don't mind people going and voting honest at all. I'm touched that you wound up picking a few of mine anyway...

Thanks Rose. I don't mind your opinions at all...
