If you drink enough coffee each day to increase your heart rate, will that be enough to count twords a cartial vascular workout?

I don't think that qualifies. lol If you were to drink enough coffeee to reach your max optimal heart rate - which is supposed to be for 15-20 minutes during exercise, then you'd be inserious trouble as it would take a long time for the caffiene to get out of your system and alow the heart rate to return to normal. I hope you realize that too much caffiene can cause heart damage or kill you.

Nope.......but it might contribute to not having to engage in strenuous workouts much quicker than you would think possible.

Heck no! If that were the case, I'd be able to compete with Lance Armstrong. I drink about 32 ounces of coffee (usually Starbucks) every morning, plus two 44 ounce diet cokes before the day is over. I really plan to start cutting back. Now that I've put it in writing, I'm supposed to be able to really follow through now, right?

Any benefit from increased heartrate is likely to be more than counterbalanced by the concommitant increase in blood pressure.

It keeps your heart rate up, even can keep your weight down because of it but will eventually give you heart palps which aren't fun .. I experienced them and for 4 years now mainly drink decaf. My weight only changed by about 5 lbs .. caffiene overdose is definately not a good thing.

Damn...and I thought 3 quick shots of espresso would be considered a serious aerobic workout.

I knew two girls who did power hour with doubleshots of coffee. For those of you who don't know what that is... they did 2 shots of coffee every 60 seconds for an entire hour. That's about 22.5 8oz cups or 180oz of coffee.
