Hello

Check out my new website- the old one was down for awhile because I decided to switch hosts but didnt want to pay a transfer fee... Te-he. So I waited awhile till my old domain was up again for grabs but meh, it doesn't seem to be happening for awhile so I've settled with this name for now...

//www.JoeyL.com

Not bad, sounds artistic sort of. :-P

And oh yeah, I completly revamped the layout of everything. :-D
I put my movies up too, almost all of them work so far. :-)

It's not for professional use, more or less to have a nice database of my stuff I can show friends and family. I'd like to hear any sort of feedback on it :-)

Even the site itself is grungy ;)

Looks good Joey. I like the flash video on the initial page.

Really nice looking site, good job. The code could be cleaner if you did it by hand, but it doesn't really matter too much since it does look very good. Bit graphics-intensive for dial-up users, but we're a shrinking minority anyway.

No one looks at the code. :-p (Except you, heh)

Looks nice, overall, especially the scrolling first page. I couldn't look at the shots though, because they insisted on opening in a popup--each one, recentering itself on my screen (which in my case is between two monitors!) Perhaps you can set it so that they reuse an open popup window. That allows people like me to move it where we want, and use it just like an external "frame" as we click on the the thumbs.

excellent Joey...of course we didn't expect anything less. I like that color scheme a lot. Nice job as usual

er um, add me to the list of AR types that peeped at the (generated) code :-)

Looks pretty good, nice style to match the photos. I do find the thumbs a little small but maybe something around them would help fix them to the background a little more.

It is also set for basically fixed size which is not so good on my larger screen - you need to make the background consistent because I see the orange square in the top left with a white or black frame (animals is black, the others white and emotive has a pic at the botton - what's up with that?).. :-)

Would you mind sharing what program you used to auto-generate the site?

Cheers

Tidy will shrink that all up for you... I like that Mozilla has integrated Tidy into it's "View Source" function. Let's you see what you did wrong while you are debuging your site.

looks very nice. (the code well, it adds a nice contrast to the beauty of the actual site) :-P

I have never been a fan of pop-ups for images, I think more of a slide show style requires less clicking and keeps views there longer...

...and your "people" gallery is my fav. some really good photographs.

Front page is stunningly well done, and of course the photos are excellent. One thing that's probably easy to fix is that the popups open with scroll-bars, although the windows are just marginally smaller than the photos. At least this happens in both Firefox and Safari on the Mac, but not Flock (of course nobody uses Flock, ...yet).

The videos play fine in Firefox, but not in Safari.

Thanks for the tips everyone

Each piece of the side was made in photoshop, then assembled in a program called Sitespinner. The scrolling bar is made in flash and I used eraser brushes to cut out that design over the photos and applied it on another layer in flash.

Joey, I like your site... Many of the images are dramatic and very creative. Some seem like they are a little too much photoshop'd however. Even though it may feel right to tweak a particular photo until the grain is showing don't do it... the merit of your subjects and composition is enough without the extra filters. :) Don't use them when possible.

Nice grunge style Joey, but the grunge is not page filled.
Would look nicer if it was :)

Hey, what is your screen resolution? I'm not sure what you mean :-(

Forget page filling, you couldnt do it with an image without tiling.

It looks okay but youve got a massive problem with too many thumnails and loading a bit shoddily. Would of been better to have a small window or "next" and have less thumbnails. On the gallery page that is.

I like the scratched out bit on the first page, good idea. Overall its good, but like I said more thought into the pictures layout would be better.
