You're terrorizing us. I just showed that little photo to a co-worker's child, and she cried and ran away.

I am a typing monkey ... er, reporter ... covering biz news for a fairly large U.S.-based news service.

I have a 30-inch flat-panel TV almost directly overhead that scrolls through the day's photographs from all around the globe. Makes me incredibly jealous - and strongly consider a job change.

Uh, Strikeslip, Is this a joke? I clicked on your link to your favorite person on the DPC site and my own profile showed up. This has to be a joke cause I haven't even posted photos yet. What's up, did you have a typo? LOL

Also, I have read lots of these posts and it is so amazing to me that with all this terrific talent in photography, hardly anyone even mentions that they are a "photographer". If it's your passion, and especially if you are being paid fairly regularly to do it, it should be the first thing listed. It's the icing on the cake, the rest is more like beans and potatoes.(or brussel sprouts) Icing can be made into beautiful conconctions, beans and potatoes usually are good, but ultimately look like beans and potatoes. Don't ask where that analogy came from, it's 2:17 in the morning and I should be sleeping instead of playing with you guys. But that wouldn't be fun.

Well I am a photographer. Have been for the past 20 years. The last 10 of them working in the Newspaper industry, freelance for the 10 before that. Have recently taken a redundancy from a full time position and now working as a casual (not such a bad thing as full time newspaper work is rather taxing physically and mentaly). Most of my work now is in the Real Estate industry photographing new homes for advertising purposes (get to see how the other half lives). Would like to start my own photo restoration business. It was one of my favorite pass times back in the old days (dyes, paints, air brushing etc...) now with digi technoligy it is so much eazier and faster to do.

Like LaurelBlack, I thought I'd posted to this thread a long time ago, so immediately went to page 5 of 10. My speed these days in the Challenges. But no, not there nor anywhere else. I must have thought there wouldn't be any interest in those who say "I'm retired."

But still, early on, I was a "girl Friday" (remember those?) for a sports car agency for a long time (do the books, chase parts, greet customers - got to drive the boss' XK 120), and after lots of other stuff, ended up as an Exec. Secty for a wine & sprits company for about 20 years. Nice perks there too.

Now, I'm retired; it's my turn, so I go out and play a whole bunch.

I've always had a camera.
