Maybe do a little dodging on the sign, to bring it out a little bit more? I think it has potential, just needs a little work.

Interesting idea but your exposure seems a little on the dark side. the colors are holding this back from "poping" mabey try to saturate them more, but don't push it to far.

IMHO it has 2 flaws.

The color tone is too green. While I relaise most of the objects ARE green, the similarities of the green make for a dull composition. If you played with selective color and brought out the differences between the moss on the sign, the grass, and the sky, the photo would have more pop.

The neat thing about the shot is the promise of the sign and the reality of the landscape, but all the focus is on the sign. If you had deepened the depth of feild to make both fore and backround tightly focused, there would be a better balance; or if that was impossible, blur the backround more so it would be a stronger shift between the two, as is it looks like an error rather than a choice.

(it was a choice on focus but understand where you are coming from) oh and my camera only does f/3.2
as for selective colour what about a desat on all but the sign does anyone think this would work and if yes is there a tutorial on it.

This is semi-off topic, but whenever I use my dodge tool, I just get white.
