I keep getting this error message when I open a jpeg converted from .crw using Raw Shooters Essentials. First question, is there a way to make this go away? Second question, if answer one is no, which option do I pick?

Edit to add: Maybe I should include the error message?

Photoshop is telling you that RSE's srgbxxxx is different from its own, even though the numbers are the same. RSE is producing product that PS isn't recognizing as the same as its own. Gawd knows why.

I have never seen this problem myself. I mean I get "mismatch" messages allt he time, but not between two identically-named spaces. Your short-term fix is to click the window to use photoshop's space, I think. But why it is happening I don't know.

Bear, are you still using the same converter? Do you ever get this? I don't get it when I use the Canon supplied converter...

In Photoshop under Edit, Color Settings (shift Cntrl K) under color management policies there is a check box for this pop up.

I get this everytime. If it is inconvienant just turn notification off.

Bear is absolutely right as to the why it is happening.

I think I am getting this because I use a monitor profile in PS.

No, I never got it from a converter, I never got what you have. Sometimes when I open images from other sourtces, they do not have the sRGB color space at all, and then I get a similar message. In YOUR error message, the two colorspaces are described by the same identifying alphanumeric. THAT's the odd part.

I've never used RSE because I don't run an XP machine. I have the EOS viewer utility and Bibble.

The safest response here is "convert the document's colors to the working space." This should produce virtually no change since the spaces are supposed to be the same. If you see a significant shift, there is something wrong with how one of those spaces is defined; they should be identical.
Once you've verified that no visible color shifts occur, you can set your preferences to stop Photoshop from asking you every time.

Bumpin' to see if anyone has any idea why I get this error in the first place...
