A little over two weeks ago I had posted a help request about help with Polarizers because the one I had for a professional photo shoot did not work...reflections ruined the shot.
Bear Music, Beetle, TroyMosley, cpanaioti, KaDi, BobsterLobster, kirsty_mcn, nomad469, rachelellen, Firsty, eschelar, and AJAger all offered advice and some insights. Heh, turns out that all polorizers are not made equal. My Quantaray Polarizer was just not sufficiant for the job not like Hoya or Cokin polarizer's.... A GREAT BIG THANK YOU for all the insights and assistance!
Final Work The Coffeehouse Reader (hope this link works) has been donated to Artists for Charity and can be viewed here: //www.deviantart.com/view/27155530/
For any interested in the orginal thread that offers advice and insights on Polerizers see //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=318329
My lesson learned: research ALL equipment before purchase!!!
The end result is that unfortunately there are no Mom & Pop Camera stores aside from the big chain such as Wolf or Ritz Camera. I looked. Ordering the Hoya or Cokin filter from a trusted online vendor would have taken the better part of a week or two considering the holidays were just around the corner and also my model would be unavailable to do a reshoot in a reasonable time frame.
What I ended up doing was going back to the location and taking ANOTHER shot in the evening hours with flash. I was lucky that exact spot was still marked so I was able to get very, very close the the same angle. I then image prossessed the non-reflective window with the original and Ta-DA! |
