How about, say a 3-part challenge along the lines of the Red Couch series where we photograph one unique inaniamte object in three different, but unique settings and the overall result is based on the total of a all three photos, over a three week period? Could be quite interesting to see if we could pull off three good photos in a row using the same main subject. Thoughts?

It's interesting but it has a flaw: when week one is posted up, anonymity flies out the window. I suppose it could be done without revealing the results until the end of week 3 voting, since there'd have to be coding changes to make this possible at all anyway.

But I suspect there's too much coding necessary to make this happen, too little payout for the effort.

I have considered running a "mini-challenge" like some that have happened here that is related to your suggestion; I have thought about telling the entrants we will announce a new object each week, and you must make a series of images that incorporate all the objects as they are announced, and accumulated.

For example, week one I'd say "shoot a shoe". Week two, "shoot the shoe and a lightbulb". Week three, "Shoot the shoe, the lightbulb, and a dead flower". Combine the three images into a triptych and submit for judging. The shooters would not know what elements were in store until each "rollover".
