Most of these pictures are so incredibly emotional, when voting, I have tears running down my face.... i'd say 90% of these really got me crying, cuz they were so beautiful, and I just want to thank you all for taking such incredible pictures. i have never cried on a challenge before, and maybe it's just me, but these, well these are fantastic!!!!! I can't wait to see who the photographers are! Were any of the pictures emotional to you??

Can we assume you are referring to the Mother Challenge. If so, yes there are some really good entries there.

That's very sweet. I too felt a strong tug on the heart strings while I flipped through the entries. Some lovely shots.

I just looked at your profile. . Is that beautiful little baby Calista yours? If so, I can certainly understand exactly why the mother challenge meant so much to you. There were some deeply moving and emotional ones, but would even be more so for a brand new mommy :) Congratulations if Calista belongs to you!

I think this may turn out to be a fairly high average score challenge. I gave nothing below a 4. There are usually a least a few entries that are both out of focus and don't meet the challenge. But not this time. The DNMC (and there weren't many if you ask me) all seemed to be in focus, and the OOF all seemed to meet the challenge. A couple of shots made me laugh out loud and a couple were just simply beautiful.

If you haven't voted this challenge yet, go do it. If you're not a member, pony up the $25 and go vote on it.

There are some very good photos. Two in particular really stand out to me as superb! I'll wait and see if everyone else agrees with me!

I had a few more that I thought were very good, but nothing even remotely came close to bringing me to tears.

Taking into consideration the fact that there were no <> to stifle creativity, I had truly expected a plethora of truly amazing and creative images... I was wrong.

I shall eagerly await the comments from the "out of the box thinkers" as to why we were not inundated with a flood of creativity in this instance.

Calista happens actually to be my niece, but i do have 3 children of my own, and i get moved when i see such love and emotion in pictures, i can almost feel some of these. yet, some of the pictures did nothing for me, and was confused as to where mother came in...but everyone has their own thoughts and since there was no description, i didn't vote anything below a 4. My score right now is a 4.6 but i'm not disappointed cuz i love my photo.

Must be a girl thing. Handful of great shots, but very disappointing overall.

from what i've seen you can't think "outside the box" or you get flamed.

i guess everyone has this wonderful image of a mother in there mind, and that's nice for you. my mother made me cry but not for the reasons in those photos.

i actually did wait to get the shot i put on here because i knew it would look like my representation of a mother. i am now getting flamed for thinking outside of the box.

so that is why there is no creativity.......

Maybe it is a female thing, but I was very impressed with the entries (and I'm not even a mother). There are so many imaginative and well-presented portraits of mothers with and without their kids - thanks to all for sharing. (Down side of all these great shots - doesn't encourage entering member challenges!)
