I've been working very hard for my study today. This one is an assignment to show the structures of three different objects.
What do you think? What can I improve or change?
Comments are very appreciated!
edit: sorry, it's triptych.. :S

got some new ideas while riding in my car (oh how I love those moments!). this week I think I'm gonna reshoot everything, and I'll post an update here.

well the structures of two of the objects are clipped off at the edges. i would try to show the entire structure of all the objects i chose to photograph.
intersesting image - but not clean enough in my opinion.

Love this one, Hanneke! The pink really pops on the white and the composition is clean and well-suited for the triptych application. Very nice. :)

Overall i like the pink much better. I also like that you can see the whole rag. With it cut off before it was hard to tell if it was a rag or a smock or a shirt or just what. I do think the depth of field is a little shallow on the paint brush. It wouldn't be so bad on it's own, but put up with the other two it makes it look out of focus.

I used the same aperture & the same point of view, so the DOF should look the same. I can understand what you're saying (these were my thoughts too..), but it's pretty hard to shoot a paintbrush without losing the small DOF. I tried this with a smaller aperture, but the results aren't better.
Thanx for your comment! |

Somehow it looks clearer to me in the black one. The bristles, the metal part and a bit of the handle all seem in focus, or in focus enough that you feel like they are, but in the pink one it seems to drop out of focus right after the bristles. |

Yep I saw that too. I think the placement of the other one was a bit diffferent, I can't remember actually, got a bad short-term memory ;) |
