Well said!
I would have thought 'Show us roundness, however you want to express it' is very plain. It means don't nitpick! If I want to express roundness through angularity, I should be able to do so and be supported.

My bad. I just got back from vacation and hadn't read the challenge description carefully -- now that you point out that it says roundness (and not just "round") I take back my earlier remark and agree that a New Beetle does indeed exhibit "roundness".

Oh great now next week the comments I'll get will be... "Too round. Dose not meet the spirit of the challange" or "I would have ranked it higher but your lack of creativity disturbed me"

It's ok - I didn't understand your post where you changed my bio stuff. I am not mad, but very confused. The world would be a MUCH better place with fewer lawyers. Let's just have DPC lawyers be the ONLY lawyers...that'd be nice.

eh...with all the lawsuits going on, if the only lawyers are DPC members here, I think they'll get rich pretty quickly too, hehe.

Just my opinion, since the challenge says "Round", not "Curved". And if I surveyed 100 people on the street and asked "is a new VW Beetle" round?" or "is that spiral staircase round?" most people would say no. Yes, the dictionary may have some defintion of 'round' that would fit for a curved image, I don't feel those things are within the spirit of what "round" is to the average person.


For so long we've noticed people getting so strict about the exact definition of the challenge word. Now you've gotten so out of control that even the exact dictionary definition isn't good enough! I guess a photographer has to be a mind reader to get a good vote from you, huh? The challenge is "Show roundness", not even just "round." A VW bug definitely exhibits roundness, by the definition.

I guess I'll start surveying people on the street now to find out what will be acceptable to some of the out-of-control voters.


I agree with you, Steve. This nitpickiness can take the fun out of the challenges. It also looks very pety to new participants (like me).
