I got to fall into the 50/50 catagory. I agree that rain will spoil the fun and make it uncomfortable and I have a photo shoot all day sat and sun. So from that aspect I have no problems moving the meet to another time. The only thought for sticking with the date is the fact the the forcast can be very unreliable and the night shoots look better right after rain because of the water on the ground for it's relflections of the light. But if it is actualy raining it is just missarable. |

WellI just checked the weather and it is still calling for rain. I am out. That is about a 1 hour drive for me so I don;t want to make that long trip and it be rainging. Even though I just got insurance on my equipment. It seems like the majority wants to reschedule this so I think that is best.
Now anybody want to shoot out a date for this to try and occur again?
I know Eden (jaxed) is out for next weekend. I think sometime in March would be good. March 18th is a no no for me. Kids birthday.

I'm up for whenever. Another attempt at a nightshoot or should we try more for a Spring thing, maybe Callaway or there's always the Dogwood Festival the beginning of April, 7,8 & 9th to be exact.
I'm still gonna head downtown tomorrow night if it's not pouring, as long as there will be a couple others willing to brave it. I think Ericwoo and Elemess might still be up for it. CTCurry, I'll wait for your call. :-) Looks like it'll be chilly. Fun! Chilly and wet.... Man, the things I'll do to try to get a good photograph :(

Larry, I just sent you a PM about tomorrow night. Looks like we'll be scheduling another shoot for another time, but I still may want to go tomorrow if the weather isn't so bad.

Where is the Garson Deck? Is this Lindbergh station? I'll have to get online to remind myself where that station is.
Edit:
Found this Lindbergh Station Just need to know where the Garson Deck is.
Anyone else have a change of heart and wanna come? Looks like it'll be me, Elemess and Ericwoo (maybe jaxed and CTcurry also) if the weather isn't incredibly crappy. Good oppourtunity to get shots from the Marta. :-)

No rain.
Very windy.
Very cold.
So cold, in fact, my camera isn't particularly interested in talking to my computer. Come to think of it, neither am I. So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find a few blankets to crawl under and warm up. |

I've been home about an hour and half and I'm still shivering! :-) I'm still going through mine and working on the one for my PAD (which is now late) and will try to post at least that one tonight. But will post more tomorrow. I'm so glad it didn't rain!!

Did you get any off the CNN center? I use to have to go there twice a year for a conference. Loved Centennial park across from it.

Centennial was our first stop, well my first stop anyways. Eric and his friend were shooting at GP Center when I caught up with them. Unfortunately, I goofed and left my ISO set at 1600 for all the shots there. My camera was acting up and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Turns out the lock was set on my remote and it just kept taking picture after picture after picture. I didn't figure this out until later (I thought it had something to do with the cold) So by the time I got it shooting right, we were packing up and getting ready to move onto the next stop. I didn't realize about the ISO until we got to Lindbergh station that I'd forgotten to drop it down. Oh Well.... I'll have more later. But now, I'm off to bed to try to warm up!!!
Had a good time guys, even if I do now have a bad case of frostbite! :-) And Larry, I got ANOTHER cramp in my foot on the drive home. Geesh!!

Another view from the park. This one was taken with a 16mm fisheye lens. We had a great time despite that wind, but no rain. Missed the rest ofyou guys, but I look forward to meeting you next time.
Eric

Ya know, I was thinking about that last night too! Just label us vandals I guess. :-) And thanks, my foot is much better now that it's returned to a normal temperature. :-)
I've also come to the conclusion that nightshots and cityscapes are not my strong points. I'm not sure the best way to process them. They all seemed really soft. May have gone overboard with the USM. At least I have enough shots to get some good practice in on. :-) Eric, your photos look fantastic! :-)
Can't wait to get together with everyone real soon. Let's get to rescheduling the next one!

the first one is at Centennial Park before y'all got there, which is why it's a different angle; second from Lindbergh; last two same shot with different editing from Jackson St bridge

Ya'll got some really great shot's. Love all the creative post processing going on. I'm excited for the next GTG. Does anyone want to throw a date out there and see what we can come up with? I'm pretty much free any weekend so let's hear from someone who has limited free time.
