Hi all -
I'm new to the web site. Is there a classifides section somewhere? I recently got a 20d body with a couple of "L" lenses (50/1.8 & 24-70/2.8). After playing around with them for awhile, I realized I needed something wider. I should have just gotten the kit lens with the camera. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had one they weren't using much anymore and wanted to get rid of. Thanks. |

We don't have one, per se; Every now and then someone will post stuff they're trying to sell, but there's no buy/sell forum. I'd check out //www.fredmiranda.com/ if I were you. They have a buy/sell forum that's really active. You can find all sorts of stuff you never knew you needed... You have to register with a non-web based email addy. |

Just for info, in case you didn't know, the Canon 10-22 EF-S is supposed to be a very good wide angle lens for the 20D. If you did know, then it still is:)

If it's a 2000ws bowens monolight, with stand, modifiers and pocket wizard it might be a good swap! :-)... |

The 50mm f/1.8 is not "L" glass. In fact it's on the other end of the spectrum price-wise, if not performance-wise.

Oops! You're right. I actually have the 50mm/1.4 As I said, I'm new to the forum as well as still photography.

I think most people are unimpressed by the kit lens. I do have the 17-85 IS which I will be selling since I have replaced it with the 24-70/2.8L and have the wide covered with Tokina 12-24. I have not investigated what the going rate is for the 17-85 but mine is only about 9 mos old. |

Thanks for all the responses (this really seems like an active fourm). I think I've found my lens. |

The build quality is certain no where close to L quality but my experience with the optics is quite favorable.

I don't yet have the discriminating eye to really tell a huge difference between good and average glass. I'm still learning the camera. I just need something wider (and lighter) to play with. |
