I upgraded to the power version of smugmug. I would have upgraded to the pro version but my stupid gift card from Giftcards.com won't activate. Anyway, I want to customize my website but I have no clue how to get started. The help section really didn't help me. I no nothing about HTML! Help me please! I am trying to design a banner for the top. I really want it to look good. What size should it be? |

Mandy go to Digital Grin. Look under Smugmug Customization
You will find that place a lot more helpful than smugmugs actual help page.
Are you trying to design a header or are you going to use a photograph?
If it is a photograph then it is easy.

Then put this in the header section of the customization page:
You have to make sure the dimensions match your photo size. What I done was make a private gallery in my smumgu and then linked to there.
If you need any moire help feel free to pm me.

Hey Mandy ... show us your smugmug page. I've only done a little bit of customization work on my own site and would love to see what others are doing.

Mandy and Dave....love your sites.............
Mandy...you need to right click protect your pictures. It is done in the gallery customization box. You should set up all your galleries like that. Your copyright notice on the bottom will not keep people from stealing them.

I love the header and footer you put on your site! I think what you've done so far looks really polished!
On my own site, I started out with the black background and changed to the "spoonman" theme when themes came out. But I'm leaning towards going back to black or at least gray. It's just that black (or gray) will go with everything and my current colors tend to clash depending on the pictures that are being viewed.
It's just that it all takes so much time. I've had 3 weddings this week and I'm buried in images right now! So much time and so little to do. Scratch that. Reverse it. :-)
