Well, it's 11pm and I am bugged. So off to bed. Have a great new year !

7pm here in Japan. green curry is on the fire, champers in the cooler and we got a nice movie to watch, just the girlfriend and I to see in the new year.

Ditto..
Just got in from a new years party over the road. Had a great time, they've got a big old sawmill saw blade suspended over a big fire that's used as a BBQ beside the stream. (we're in a rural area...) We bailed early as our daughter was starting to fade, but get that when your normal bedtime is 8:00 and your parents keep you up till 11:30. :-).
Have a great new years when it arrives for you!
For what it's worth, 2006 seems very similar to 2005 so far. :-).

the time in Iceland is only 1:35 PM so still 10.5 hours to go...
I have fireworks in stock, plenty of champagne, beer, snacks, food and all the other crap needed to celebrate the new year :)
here's a picture of my fireworks.. I put my 70-200L f2.8 IS in the shot for size comparizing.
my understanding is that public isn't allowed to shoot fireworks in most countries in the world, here in Iceland everyone is allowed, and selling fireworks is the main fundraising for Icelands emergency service, scouts, sporting clubs and other non profit organisasions.
