Don't worry it takes a little while, but it is worth the wait....ShutterStock is one of my top earners....and very fast to make money. Plus you can cash out at only $75

Melissa

I am sure shutterstock will be a good earner for you too.

he he.. ok ok... truce :)

Yes I keyword in Photoshop...but I only started doing that like 12 months ago...all images before that I have to keyword each one.sucks!

hehe!

Melissa

This may sound silly, and I don't want to hijack this thread, but how do you keyword in Photoshop?? Lordy, that would save me some time!!! I never knew it was an option! I've always racked my brain for keywords each time I upload a photo...hahahaha.

yeah it saves TONS of times.

If you go into File | File Info

then it will pop up some different boxes there you can enter information into... or the shortcut is

crtl + alt + shift + I

or you could check out a program like imatch I think it might have an unlimited trial use.... i purchased it though in the end so i am not sure.

Last 2 days to submit to Fotolia before the promo ends.

Guess what!

FOTOLIA is continuing it's upload promo! As of February 1st, the photogs will automatically get $0.20 for each upload; no restrictions!

Very cool!

Anyhow, yeah it is a great offer, and a great idea by fotolia. I think they are going to get their image count up pretty quick with offers like this... and then be in competition with Shutterstock Istock and Dreamstime

Well the month is over and the uploads have been tallied.

I hope a few people managed to take advantage of the program. It doubled my micro stock earnings for january.

And the good news is, it continues on into february :) (except only .20 / accpted image).. however itis for every image, not just the ones over 50

I've been underwhelmed by my experience of Fotolia so far. I only uploaded 10 photos so far, two (which have done fairly well elsewhere) were rejected, and somehow the titles, descriptions and keywords of two others got totally messed up - they somehow picked up info from other unrelated images. It is impossible to edit the info once an image has been accepted. When I contacted support asking what to do about it, they said I should upload them again, something I have no intention of doing with a slow and expensive dial-up connection. Frankly I cannot understand how the problem wasn't picked up when they were accepted, nor how it is impossible for Fotolia staff to edit them. I feel like asking them to close my account.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread, but that 0.20 payment requires one to leave ones images there for at least a year. With iStock being by far my best site, even before their price increases, new developments there are starting to make exclusivity look attractive (if things improve for me), and I really don't want to make any long term commitments I may regret later.

I am not sure why the 1 year commitment scares people. I guess if one wants to go exclusive I could see the fear, but I am not sure why exclusive is attractive to anyone. I have uploaded all my images to the sites I feel are worth contributing to. Some were accepted more or less at different places. I make 15% of my income at Istock. If i went exclusive with istock i would be getting a pretty big pay cut.

At the moment I am in the same boat. But with extended licences, I am not sure this will be the case in the future.

Currently gimmestock, bigstock and canstock all look like they are going to be a waste of time and effort and I am starting to think that Fotolia may be the same. I feel I am spreading my portfolio too thin, so I really don't want to make any long-term commitments to sites until I'm sure that I will see some return on the time I have invested.
