no, it is a promo that the sites has to get more images on there site. You only get paid a bonus after the 50 accepted...But you can still make money off all the files upload when they are downloaded.

I guess you won't really get to know till it is over, but it wouldn't be too hard to calculate. (looking at the first post I made, all the figures you need are there)

I have like 800 uploaded but I just need to get going on keywording and submitting them.

800, wow, that is great. Well you will be awfully close to the $400 then. A nice 'christmas bonus'

There is language that states:

"You acknowledge and agree that Fotolia or its licensors retain all ownership rights in and to the Works, and that such Works are covered and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights of Fotolia or its licensors."

This basically says you give up all your rights to the images, right? Should I be concerned?
01/04/2006 05:06:45 PM · #31
I believe that's from the buyers agreement, and that in that context the photographer is the "licensor"; in other words explaining that the buyer isn't gaining any rights to the image, just a license for it's use.

I am, however, not a lawyer!

Thanks Ganders, but I was looking under "*(uploaded images must comply with the basic terms and conditions of the Fotolia website) " ...

yeah i wondered about that. I think you just have to have them keyworded and submitted by the end of the month, not neccesarily accepted by the end of the month.

"free" ?!?!?!?!????

Apart from the obvious advantage of having 1000+ images on microstock sites, it's an awful lot of work to do for a $400 paycheck. Keywording that many images would take ages...

my images are allready keyworded from uploading them to other agencies. I am thinking it should take about a day. It is 'free' because I was going to upload my images there sometime anyhow. Now I will do them all in january and get a 'free' $400+ for it.

It looks like they are overloaded right now. Approvals going slower than before. It looks like everybody get old and new images and start uploading. You can se that number of online images growing and growing hour by hour. Cool!

But we all have to take importance of this section:
Photos can not be removed for period of 1 year. (That means all photos that has been part of January Reward program)
So if you do not want some photos to be part do not select after upload to be part of it.
