I recently sent my Tokina 24-200mm lens back to the retailer as it developed a fault with focusing at the far end of the zoom. A few weeks passed and I enquired as to when it would be returned. Bad news - the company that imports Tokina had gone into receivership. The people at Bristol Cameras, where I purchased the Tokina, then gave me a couple of choices.
1. They would get it repaired but that might take 4-6 weeks.
2. I could have a full refund
3. I could pick another lens off their site in place of the Tokina

Well I really liked my Tokina, it was a great walkabout lens, but they did not have any in stock. So I chose the Sigma 28mm f1.8 ex dg df Macro. This lens retails for around £175 here in the U.K. so its pretty cheap. I have only just started taking photos with it but am really impressed with this lens.
What I find really strange is that it appears that I am the only person on this site that has this lens in a Canon fitting.
This lens will also work on my Canon EOS 5 35mm camera and gives me a decent wide angle.

Anyway if you are looking for a good value 28mm lens then I can recomment this one - its even pretty decent on the macro setting!

One I took yesterday - NOTHING done except resize.
