The only focussing rail I can find is £240 which I find unbelieveable considering its a piece of plastic to run a camera along. I want cheap crap one, but there doesnt seem to be any other price apart from extreme. Anyone bought one in the uk? Theres nothing on ebay at all.

ReallyRightStuff has some basic rails for around 100. Then they have all the neat attachements for them as well and of course the full tilt 500+ model is there as well. But the CB-18, 18" rail was 125.00, 6" rail was 65.00, 4" - 55.00

See if this site helps at all.

A precision one might be somewhat difficult, but just a plain old rail doesn't look too hard to build.

EDIT: to, too, two - get them straight...

Yeh Ive seen that site when I searched, but its USA, not uk. There prooving most unpopular in the uk. I have now found one for £90, and me being poor I wont be getting one.

Actually yes perhaps I should go to the garage and produce my own! It might even be fun!

Bogen / Manfrotto make the 3419 Micro Positioning plate which is a focusing rail ( about $90 here in the States). I would however, check eBay for a Pentax or better yet Novoflex rail, especially since your in Europe. The RRS rails are the best made but if you want a focusing one it wil be over $300 US.

Yeh I have checked ebay for the novoflex and pentax, ill have to keep checking and eventually get one. Until then, I think a refresher bar and celotape may make the perfect rail
