I'm thinking of going out tomorrow to purchase a couple of worklights. These ones in fact...

Being a poor student these are all I can stretch to right now :( I'm only buying them so that I can experiment with light, I don't intend to use them in any serious photography. I was wondering though, are there members here who perhaps use or have used these lights? Could you tell me the pros and cons, and could you possibly post some images so that I can see what these type of lights are capable of.
Many Thanks in advance |

My boyfriend has some worklights that he's used for filmmaking that look a lot like that, though I have no idea of the brand or model (they're still at his parents house until we move to a bigger place). We used them last year to take portraits at his parents holiday party and those looked great (I'd post examples if I weren't travelling at the moment). Two things to consider are using custom white balance as they (well, his) don't match halogen or flourescent lights and also that they get HOT just like studio lights, so be careful of placement and keep them off when not in use. |

this was taken with those type of lights
As a matter of fact most of my pics in the studio is taken with those types of lights. As stated you need to adjust your WB. |
