Anyone use this head? Cons and pros? My main question is whether it is tight enough to prevent movement while at 90 degrees. I really like the macro sliding to it.

I have both the Giotto's MH-1000 and MH-1001 heads, and generally the heads are really a good bargain. They are well made and hold tightly. What they are not is precision made instruments, like my Arca Swiss B-1 head, that move super smoothly and lock exactly where you have framed.
Also, I would not get the unit linked to. I would get the unit without the quick release and convert to a popular QR system such as the Arca Swiss system.

I've also heard really good feedback on the new (to the US at least)FLM Line. Great prices for what looks like precision made heads. |

Had the head. (without the QC plate) Didn't like it. I used it for a few days, put it up and later sold it on eBay. It locked tight, but was not very smooth.
