I got a new memory card for my camera (which I asked for the all the subtlty of a sledge hammer), a gold locket/chain, earrings, and a silver key chain. I don't have a sister who works at a jewlery store and gets a huge discount or anything....

And, the best thing of all.... by next Christmas, I'm gonna be an aunt again!!!!!! I already have two most excellent nephews. I'd kinda like a niece this time, but another nephew would be good too. :))))

I got a couple of shirts,
the gaudiest pair of sleeping pants,
a deck of cards
and that black Fedora I asked for in the Wish List post.
Money was pretty tight around here this year.

The best gifts I received came from the Wish List thread and from 2 wonderful DPCers. Linda (ShutterPug) gifted me a membership to this site and Courtenay (dahkota)sent me 2 great photography books. Thanks again ladies! You're the best!

A WACOM Graphire3 6X8 tablet, an external DVD burner, and shooting gloves (got new lenses in November cause I couldn't wait).

Also, Alamy passed my images through QC friday. Hated keywording them but its great to finally have some more images up there. Now with the burner, I can send them more than 13 on a disc at a time... :)

Threads like this make me tear up. I really don't like spoiling everyone's joy with a different kind of Christmas joy, but I feel God does deserve the praise and I would like to write it out to you and to Him, here.

I am just grateful for being able to have my son and husband and our health this season. My husband lost most of his sight in September. Partly due to glaucoma and also due to an accident which aggravated that. So I am grateful he didn't lose his site all together, and so are we all. Due to these unfortunates, we had little money this year. We could only buy for the smallest children, and of course, our son. Seeing his joy WAS our joy, along with the other little children. We were left with less than $.87, and are actually now in the hole a bit financially, but it was worth it.

My husband went from a job last February that paid nearly $3000 a month to a different job that paid half of that due to glaucoma, to now no job due to the accident, which will now be social security checks - and that goes for both of us. We are both disabled now.

This spring will be our very last good size IRS refund check, other than small ones while our son is still young, and we intend to each buy something we want verses need for a change. Something for my husband, my son, and myself. My son will most likely get a new computer. I will get my Rebel XT, and my husband is still undecided on his. That will be our "commercial" Christmas time for real, but as for this actual Christmas Day, we are just grateful for being able to spread joy to the little ones.

Oh we got a few things from family, and we had a great party last night at my brothers house too, but for the most part, God's grace were our true presents.

Rose

Nikkor Fisheye 10.5 mm lens, Yves St Laurent 'NU' scent, which you cannot buy on the West Coast of the US for some reason, although I was told it wasn't popular but I love it.

-Leather Jacket
-Leather Hat
-Leather winter gloves
-Leather driving gloves
-cloths
-Loretta Lux book
-2 Brian Andreas books (www.storypeople.com

I think that is about it. I know it's a whole lot. I'm an only child though. I have to say this was the best Christmas ever though because it was the first I had my own money to buy people things.

Well, our big present was the new Dell LCD monitor we got back in October after our 10 year old CRT went tits-up. Prolly could have replaced it a while ago, but I hate getting rid of anything until it's absolutely beyond redemption.

I got some warm clothes, a couple of cookbooks (like I need more, but I love to read them), some kitchen gadgets, a nice French Burgundy that I would have never bought on my own, a $50 gift card to Lowes, a wallet and a garage I can park in. Well the garage we built this summer, but it still qualifies.

Cheers!

No clothes! This is probably the first time ever that I didn't get a single thread of clothing for Christmas. I'll just have to shoot in the buff though, because I have no intention of returning the Canon 100-400L, 580ex flash, Bogen monopod and assorted accessories. Is it drafty in here, or is it just me? :-D

My wife got her "LEATHAAA and JE-WELLS!" she asked for. Tried to hide her diamonds in a box filled with her files to throw her off but it didn't work.

Santa brought a Robosapien for Daddy ... uhm, I mean my son Noah.

I got enough Henry's (a camera store) gift cards to buy a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro. I'm going to be buying that as soon as I can!

Best part was I got a promotion at work ... actually, I was informed on my birthday (Dec. 16) that I was being considered for a Manager's position.

It has been the best Christmas ever. I am very thankful an overwhelmed by it all. Merry Christmas!!

Santa was very good to us this year. No doubt because I'm such a good boy.

We gave my son and daughter each a Canon 350XT camera, and some other nice things too. Since my son's birthday is tomorrow, we got him a Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L lens to go with his camera. My daughter already has lenses from her 35mm Rebel. My son has a Nikon 35mm, so we upgraded him to Canon. :)

My wife & kids got me the AlienBees RadioRemote One wireless controller package for my studio. It's so cool!

Since my wife and I are going scuba diving in Mexico next month, I bought a few presents for both of us (I saved the pics as I was shopping online.)

Two 5mm Henderson Hyperstretch Titanium fullsuits

Two Henderson Hyperstretch hoods

Two pairs of Henderson Hyperstretch gloves

Two pairs of Henderson Hyperstretch boots

Two Oceanic ION-4 masks (1 for me & 1 spare)

One ScubaMax Solara mask (For Becky)

Two pairs of Oceanic Vortex V-12 fins

Two Oceanic Ultra-Dry snorkels

Two Tusa BC Mini-Knives (For fighting underwater spies)

One Suprema XLNT motorized 35mm film camera (An Ikelite housing with 8" dome port & strobe for my 10D is planned for next year.)

Two Akona mesh duffels (For carrying all the above to the boat)

One Akona dry duffel

And one Pelican 1660 dry box (To carry it all on the plane. Got a great deal on this)

I can't wait to go diving!

I did pretty well with the x-mas season, my husband got me an HP all-in-one printer (not great for photo's but I plan to upgrade next year to an epson high end), a keychain that shows digital photos, a digital photo frame that displays my photos' from my CF card. No clothing (yay! I hate clothes for the holidays). Also about a month ago I got my early gift from my Husband and Mom, the Rebel XT which I am in love with. My goal this upcoming year is to start participating in challenges, and become more active on this site, as I've been lurking for a while. I also got some cash which I'm going to put towards a new lens...looking at a macro (sigma or canon).
My kid made out like a bandit this year, with what seems like an entire rooms' worth of toys, and stuffed animals. Good times.
