With the expense of the Olympus digital lenses at about Min $800 and into the thousands as the MM grows, does anyone know if there are or have they tried using a manual lens from Olympus or any other manufacturer on the E-1?

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas.

I use Nikon and M42 lenses on my E-500 & E-300 (and M39 lenses via M42 to M39 adapters). The adapters work quite well, and aperture priority, TTL flash metereing and ambient metering work (can't say the same for older Nikon lenses on Nikon cameras).

The Nikon adapter is a real high-quality unit from Steven Gandy at cameraquest.com. It was expensive at $175 but very well made. They have adapters to fit lenses from about ten different camera systems including Lecia R, Pentax m42 & K, Contax, Olympus OM, Minolta, etc.

I purchased my M42 adapter from a seller on eBay for less than $40 with shipping. It was higher quality than I had imagined, but the M42 adapter doesn̢۪t have any moving parts being a solid piece of metal. The same seller has other adapters like OM & Nikon that I plan on trying.

The eBay user name is skawina1 if you want to search fro him.
