I've had several people stop me and ask what I'm doing photographing on "their" property, and I find if you smile and say, "Wow, I couldn't resist shooting THIS!" and show the so-called authority figure your image, they usually chill out. Many times I've had people say, "I never realized how cool that is/what it looks like from that angle!" etc. And generally they will talk about it for a minute and often will change their mind and encourage you to continue.

Keep 'em chimping - that's my suggestion!

There is nothing new under the sun, but none of us has seen it all. So there is fresh and original work out there. As far as the hack thing, speak for yourself.

He should have told them he saw a family of rats run out of the store and he was trying to get a shot of all of them in one shot.

I think that fact that the lad is only 16 has a lot to do with the way they handled the situation. Still it sounds pretty crazy how they handled the situation. If they had been civil to him in the first place nothing whould have happened.

crazy people, crazy world.
