I have noticed in DPCPrints and etc that some of the photographs have a nice matting/framing with the title and author written on it.
Is there a special software program that the photographers are using to create this?
If it is Adobe Photo Shop 7, can someone provide a tutorial or steps? I do not own a copy but I can maybe use someone elses machine.
I have Corel Photo Paint 9 and I could simply do it by expanding the paper size and etc. But this program does not support the Exif jpg files and I do not want to lose all of the information stored with it.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Repsectfully;

Never work from your originals, always make a copy and work on that. That way, the original and exif remains in tact.
As for the borders, I create mine by simply expanding the canvas in the chosen color (multiple times with different colors and widths if desired) and then adding the text in a layer. I use Photoshop Elements.

The canvas takes on the Background color. Set that first with the Color Picker or Eyedropper. |
