Since it's the end of term and near Christmas, fellow DPCr KEv Robertson and I thought we'd have a try at re-creating the style of the recent and excellent Sin City movie.
Here's the composite photochopped result with colleage John roped in.
Great fun to do and we learned a lot about lighting in the process.
Comments etc. welcome.

We used the main theatre stage space as our "studio"
We used two theatrical lights, a Strand SL 19/32 and a Selekon 1K Fresnel.
The position of the lights was quite a bit different than I had predicted with both lights ending up behind the "model". A flash unit pointed vertically with a tiny amount of bounce from a reflector gave me the catchlights without spilling too much light on the face.
The internet pics of Bruce Willis had the very definite dark "stripe" down the face, just the opposite from what you would naturally try ro set up I suppose.
